- All people want to be good and are capable of redemption. Even evil overarching motives are usually perversions of virtues.
- Lying is always wrong. It is an artifact of evil in the world. It should never be done out of convenience. If you were sufficiently strong and moral, you would never lie. Sometimes though, out of your or another's weakness, it might be the right thing to do. For instance, if not answering a murderer who calls out. However, this sparks another can of worms I could get into about how much an individual can take on the responsiblity of enacting justice.
- Given enough time to understand anyone, you will be capable of loving them (I'm not talking about romantic love).
- The highest leverage things to improve a society is to augment the capacity and agency of the individual. In practice, I think this is first done through the education system.
- There should be some test of understanding for individuals to vote on an issue. You can buttress this with some kind of electorate.
